Jane Hobdell: Stress Management

I established my Stress Management Practice in 1993 after qualifying with the Association of Stress Management. The training encompassed the theory and practice of stress management, hypnosis and analysis.   I had previously been employed for 15 years as a child care and family Social Worker. I worked in both the 'field' and 'residential' sectors and as the manager of an adolescent unit. Historically, it was during this period I became acutely aware of stress related problems and the need for stress management  to be made more generally available. I felt  that  knowledge of stress management techniques and help with self empowerment should be available to anyone on the basis of need.

My philosophy and approach is client - centred and does not involve adhering to any specific theoretical model.  At the outset I establish with the client an estimate of the number of sessions needed. I aim to be non-judgemental,supportive and compassionate.

My objective is to enable the client to identify the causes and to remove the adverse symptoms of stress. This will involve the use of deep relaxation/hypnosis and investigative analysis of underlying issues. This leads to subsequent reduction of overall 'stress tally', enhanced self awareness and the development of permanent coping strategies. The recognition and release of self-imposed constraints can lead to fundamental improvement in well-being.

I offer a free initial assessment session (one hour duration) without obligation.
